Australian defends ‘insulting’ Bill Leak cartoon
One of the most prominent cartoonists Australia
under sharp criticism for drawing the pulp for a man of the indigenous population.
And cardboard Bill leak published in the Australian newspaper
on Thursday portrayed Indigenous man who has forgotten the name of his son.
She said, insulting and embarrassing and animation indigenous groups “ugly.”
But the newspaper’s editor said he brought cardboard
“critical issue” in the public domain.
In animation, shows bring children from Aboriginal to his father, a police officer, saying:
“You will have to sit down
- and talk with your child about personal responsibility.”
- Father, a barefoot and holding a beer can, asks
“What is the name then?”
“Fact of life”
This comes in the wake of the cartoon controversy about the juvenile justice system in the Northern Territory
and the high rates of imprisonment among young indigenous people.
