Burkini beach row puts French values to test
This is the argument of France can be done without.
Burkini or bikini, and asked the French commentators,
ironically, for the selection of this summer to the sea.
It is no coincidence that the ban on the Islamic burkinis – swimsuits entire body – should be established from the French Riviera, a few kilometers from Nice,
a city hit by an attack Islamist militants in which 85 people were killed in a Bastille Day,
just one month ago.
The town was the first to pass a summer ban, which was confirmed by the courts on August 13.
It was soon followed by the cities of Villeneuve-Loubet, near Nice, Cisco in Corsica.
It is said even the mayor of the northern coastal resort of Le Touquet on the verge of issuing a similar ban will not be tolerated any burkini on public beaches.
‘Extremists code ”
Until now it has been fined a small number of women (38 € in Cannes – £ 33, 43 $) for wearing a burkini on the beach in Cannes. The mayor’s decision has provoked controversy.
Mayor David Lesnar tried to explain his decision in these terms: “The burkini-like uniforms,
and a symbol of Islamic extremism,
and this is why I blocked for the summer.”
His mind was a Muslim community stunned,
as is David Lesnar known locally because it allows for a wide plot of land in his hometown to be used for the construction of a mosque Read, funded by the Saudi donor.
