Edhi’s eyes become source of vision for two blind persons
Karachi: The two corneas donated by philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi having been planted by his death on Friday successfully into two blind people.
Read a statement from the Sindh Institute of Urology and cultivation on Saturday.
The hospital said:
“Edhi Sahab was among the first donors registered in 2000 SIUT that have pledged their organs after death.
Edhi’s family donated both his eyes after his death in SIUT and fulfill his will.”
“The surgery in the late afternoon by a team of surgeons at the Department of Ophthalmology at the SIUT,” notified the institute.
“I gave the death Edhi Sahab vision of the two most deserving
and this is the way he wishes to continue his legacy after death.”
Renowned social worker, died in the world and humanity after 10 years of treatment at SIUT
and since 2013 was on the kidneys three times a week washing.
We all hope that the donation, Edhi Sahab in encouraging others to save the lives of patients of end-stage organ failure, SIUT statement read.
