International Ferry Service
Consideration is being given to the domestic and international ferry service from Pakistan on the instructions of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
In this regard, the Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport,
chaired Mir Hasil Khan in local government to meet on Tuesday to finalize the license for the ferry service agreements.
The meeting was attended by foreign affairs ministries of defense and internal anti-drug,
in addition to the Federal Board of Revenue and the ANF.
The private sector will be the main focus
During the meeting, Furnished Minister Ports and
Shipping Department licensing requirements and background details of the original proposal.
Mir Hasil Khan said that the ferry service will focus primarily on the private sector.
The private sector will also be the main beneficiary of this service, which will be addressed to businessmen, tourists and overseas workers.
Simple licensing requirements remain as much as possible in order to attract private-sector investment into the new service.
Despite the existence of a focus on investments and licensing of the private sector, the government will be to organize and facilitate the ferry service.
No port charges to operators of Pakistan
And ferry operators who register under the Pakistani flag does not have to pay port fees and annual fees until 2030. If the ferry operator was registered under the flag of any other country,
they will have to pay 50% of port charges only until 2o30.
The other purpose of the meeting was to form a committee of ministries and organizations mentioned above.
This includes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior Ministry to combat drug addition to the FBR and ANF.
The Commission will be examining license applications and will give its recommendations to the ports and
the Directorate General of Shipping Ministry to grant a license or otherwise.
And it has the approval of the proposed license terms by the ministry of ports
and shipping after a detailed discussion during the next meeting of minor changes to the license terms.
