FIRE IN A BUILDING
huge FLAME broke out on the roof of a building under construction on the Sheikh Zayed Road.
A group of engineers rushed to the top floor of the building to quell the flames with a fire extinguisher until Dubai Civil Defence arrived.
“We ran to the roof with a FLAME extinguisher to put out the flames until the FLAME services came,” said an engineer at the scene.
Another engineer said: “
After the FLAME broke out we pulled the insulated foam from the AC ducts because it is highly flammable.”
Both engineers asked to remain anonymous.
Most of the labourers working at the site were on their afternoon break when the FLAME broke out.
Dubai Civil Defence vehicles arrived on the scene and extinguished the fire after 30 minutes. The FLAME broke out at 11:33 am.
The site manager said that the cause of the FLAME was unknown but could have been
caused by direct sunlight.
“Dubai Police and Dubai Civil Defence are investigating the cause ,”
