Google to launch Wi-Fi and a comprehensive public platform in India,
as part of their quest to get more of the people who use its services.
Google called the station name, and service know Wi-Fi hotspots out at the stations,
with plans to expand this to the shopping centers and cafes at some point.
Google already offers high-speed access to free wi-fi in the 52 railway stations across India.
She added that this increase to 100 by the end of the year.
CEO Sundar Pichai said the project “would be classified as the largest public Wi-Fi project in India,
and among the largest in the world, in terms of the number of potential users.”
“Even with just the first 100 stations on the Internet, and this project will make Wi-Fi is available for more than 10 million people who are going through every day,” he wrote.
Service will be free at first, but Google will be looking to liquidate it at a certain point.
As well as aiming to cover 400 stations by the end of the day,
and will also look to add more partners to expand its shopping, cafes and other places with high demand centers.
Said Caesar Sengupta, vice president of Google billion the following user, targeting emerging markets:
“In every second, three Indians over the Internet and we have to ensure that a great experience for them.
“But the next billion is very different from the first billion dollars,
and building products for these users as we prepare for how the world can use technology in the coming years.”
India represents tremendous opportunities for major technology companies – about 350 million Indians are online now, and is expected to rise to more than $ 600 million within the next three years.
In 2014, Google launched the Android one in the country, the phone with the minimum set of features that sells about 100 (£ 77) $.
More recently, a feature the company that made Web pages for mobile load faster
and less data and make YouTube currently available, with the offline version of the maps revealed soon.
It has also worked to build more support in the local language in its products,
including the Indian voice search, and improve the Hindi keyboard and support for seven other Indian languages with the latest version of Android.
Initiative designed to help women take advantage of the Internet has also started.
The company said Google will also be launching station in Indonesia and the Philippines in the future.
