Patrick Hickey: Europe’s top Olympic official arrested in Rio
Police in Brazil have arrested President of the European Olympic Committees, Patrick Hickey of Ireland,
in Rio on the Olympic ticket sales illegal.
Police say the suspect, who also heads the Olympic Council of Ireland (OCI), tried to escape when they came to him.
They say he dropped the Olympic card under the door when police came knocking and fled to a room in a nearby hotel, where his son had been staying until recently.
It believes Brazilian media the arrest of
