China launches quantum-enabled satellite Micius
State media said that China successfully launched its first satellite to enable quantum world.
Project tests technology
that could one day provide digital communications to “hack proof.”
But even if successful, it is out of reach this goal,
there are some mind-bending physics to get past for the first time.
How it works?
The moon will provide pairs of the so-called interlocking photons – tiny subatomic particles of light properties depend on each other – beaming half of
each pair to the plants in China and Austria.
This is a special type of laser has many exotic properties,
one of which is known as “observer effect” – its quantum can not be observed without change.
Therefore, if the satellite to encrypt the encryption in those key quantum state, any objection is clear. It would also change the key,
making it useless.
If it works, it will solve the central problem of encrypted communications – how to distribute the keys without objection
the promise of a protective communications hack. Encrypted message in itself can usually transmitted after the key exchange.
